Thing-a-Day Jan 23 #22 - Shit Sunday!

There's not much to say. I kept an eye on the developing story regarding the shootings in Los Angeles, CA today. Which ones, you ask? HA! That's a good point!

That part actually doesn't matter to the context of my rant. What does, is the fact that the politicians went on politicing during the press conference about the shooting! Shut the fuck up about teachers, transit funding, and diversity when lives have been lost in such a tragic manner! Your politics has nothing to do with the shooter, the victims, or the fact that the victims were celebrating Chinese Lunar New Year! But, this just goes to prove an old belief of mine -- politicians don't care. However, when I was discussing this issue with some friends of mine, they brought politics into it as well!

My liberal friend said, "That's what happens when white supremacists are bolstered by - bla bla bla." When I told him that the shooter was a 70-something year old Asian man, he said, "Yeah, well you don't have to be white to be a fucking white supremacist." ... WHAT?!

My conservative friend said, "That's what they get for living in a fuckin' liberal paradise where the cops don't do shit about shit and drugs aren't criminalized and - bla bla bla." I pointed out that the same shit happens in conservative-run cities as well, and he started calling me a fuckin' liberal commie. Again... WHAT?!

Neither one of those responses has anything to do with the topic at hand! A guy, for whatever reason, decided to shoot up a bunch of people and then ate a fucking bullet. Honestly, this is why I don't like talking about things in the news because it always ends up coming right back around to politics with most people. This is also why I'm very "FUCK YOUR TEAM" a lot of the time!

If I'm discussing a tragedy, I'd like to keep it on-topic instead of having to entertain your dumb-ass delusions.

Los Angeles is a shithole, though. I'm not gonna deny that.
