Thing-a-Day Jan 23 #26 - Today
Today was mostly boring, so here's a breakdown of how days like this usually go:
I woke up a little later than I'd have liked. Missed three of my four alarms which are all set to music that would normally wake me up. Shit, one of which is barely music at all... whatever. Grabbed a 12oz Rockstar out of the fridge and drank about half of it while getting clothes together for my shower. Took shower, warmed up car, grabbed leftovers [homemade coconut Thai shredded chicken on croissants], grabbed my butt-pad [broken coccyx], and off I went. Got to work at around 7:30am which is an hour later than I want to show up, but I don't actually need to be there until 8am. I just like getting in early to begin processing requests and run reports.
Work was stressful the whole way through, so I stopped every so often to walk around. During those little breaks, I read back through an SCP Article draft that I'm in the process of critiquing. This draft is way out of my word-count range at a whopping 20k+ words [my preference for critiquing someone else's work is up to 9k], but it needed to be done. Work e-mails, phone calls, and whatnot kept my blood pressure nice and high... just the way I like it! Bordering stage-2 hypertension!
I ate half my lunch for breakfast and the other half just before taking lunch. On lunch, I went to WalMart to buy a new pair of sunglasses [someone sat on my last pair] and a new mug for work [I don't like other people touching my shit let alone drinking out of it] and went back to work. More e-mails. More client requests. More stress.
After work, I went straight home so we could go to the MiL's place [we do this every Thursday] for family dinner. I usually spend this time on the computer anyway, so I did the first of three parts of my critique. Afterwards, we came back home and watched a couple true-crime YouTube videos. Now, I'm writing this entry as quickly as I can so I can go the fuck to bed because I haven't been sleeping well since my accident.
I guess this is gonna be my life for a bit.
