I enjoy slam poetry, beat poetry, and artistic spoken word. Not... like a person simply standing there reciting poetry with perfect rhythms and rhyming doublets. I mean the kind of poetry that slaps you in the face with jarringly precise beats. The rising and falling cadence and speed, the mood it invokes, and the difficult topics presented.

Now, do I discount milquetoast beatnik poetry? Hells no! In fact, there's an old video floating around of me doing a bit of beatnik. Here, I'll show you!

Anyway, the kind of shit I enjoy flows like Slipknot's lyrics and goes as smooth as sandpaper. Henry Rollins is a good example:


Does it rhyme? Know. Does it have a beat? Yes. You won't notice it until you feel it.

There's not much to say. I kept an eye on the developing story regarding the shootings in Los Angeles, CA today. Which ones, you ask? HA! That's a good point! That part actually doesn't matter to the context of my rant. What does , is the fact that the politicians went on politicing during the press conference about the shooting!
