~*!! HYPERBOLE INCOMING !!*~
Working from home has been both a blessing and a curse. Trust me when I tell you that some people can handle it without issue [a few can even be more productive], but most people will simply take advantage of the fact that they can work at their own pace in the comfort of their own homes. Personally, I fall in the former category! When working from home, I realized I can make more phone calls because I don't have to wait for anyone else in the office to finish their phone calls, check e-mails and do other online functions faster due to our superior internet at home, and be able to concentrate more easily because I can put my own music on and not have to worry about it bothering anyone else.
The latter category are just lazy fucking people who think they don't have to work as hard. They will allow themselves to become distracted by whatever cute and fluffy/feathery/scaly animal they have, watch TV with their family/spouse/friends/pets, get intoxicated [yes, I've seen it first-hand on various video chats], or engage in many other non-productive distractions and then complain about being fucking bored. "Waah, I'm being told what to do, but I don't wanna, so I'm gonna do what I wanna do because I'm at home, and they can't tell me what to do in my own home, but then I'm gonna get in trouble, but I don't care, fuck them, fuck my boss, I hate my job, fuck you for telling me that I'm the problem because you're the problem, if you're so fucking productive, why aren't you doing my job?" If you feel I'm calling you out by this... then you may be right.
Recently in the news, people are bitching and moaning about how the CEOs of their companies are ending the option to work from home. These whiny idiots don't seem to realize that the vast majority of their employees fall into the latter category. They also don't seem to care that their companies are losing revenue because of how absolutely selfish they are! This sort of mistreatment of the WfH option is the reason so many companies are experiencing massive budget cuts and layoffs, and it's all because of the people in the latter category.
COVID did a number on the world, and that's a tragedy that will go down in the history books as yet another statistic. However, there was a benefit at play here that certain people called at the beginning -- when the market rebounds, the weak links are going to fall out like the lint from their empty pockets, and the workers who want to work are going to take hold.
Believe me... things are going to suck for a while, but we'll make it through. We've done it in the past, and we'll keep doing it. At least we're not talking about politics, though, eh?
